About Alex

I'm Alex Mouzakitis (BSc Hons, MSc, MCSP, ACPRC, HCPC registered), a physiotherapist and Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the University of Northampton.

My approach

I specialise in musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, combining clinical experience with academic teaching at university level to provide clear, structured and evidence-based care.

My background

I completed my BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at the University of West Attica in Athens, before earning an MSc in Musculoskeletal Healthcare & Rehabilitation at University College London (UCL).

Before moving to the UK, I worked in private practice and served as a medic in the Hellenic Armed Forces, where I developed a calm, decisive and methodical approach to clinical situations.

In the UK, I have worked across trauma, orthopaedics, urgent care, A&E and intensive care in the NHS. My experience during the first COVID-19 wave strengthened my focus on cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, including ICU and complex respiratory rehabilitation.

Alongside clinical practice, I teach on the MSc and BSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) programmes at the University of Northampton, with a focus on simulation-based training, clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, climbing, scuba diving and spending time with my Welsh Corgi.
